I just want my son back.

I just want my son back she said with tears in her eyes. As she said it her words cut straight through my heart.

I just want my son back she said with tears in her eyes. As she said it her words cut straight through my heart. The words rang in my head, "I just want my son back." I heard them over and over again. Trying to hold back my tears, I looked up to see her son smiling and calling Mom.

It's an understanding, a feeling that only a few can understand. Our once lively, intelligent little boys, have seemingly shrank in the their own minds as we simultaneously try whatever we can think of to get them out. Once walking into his room you would find him writing a screenplay or creating music. Memories of one of our favorite times is clearing the floor to dance and sing.

Now he is stuck into a world that only he can see, with experiences only he can feel, with voices only he can hear, and we just want to share a life with our children. We walk around feeling robbed of a life that is here. In mourning for a person we once knew, for a child we had, and managing a pain that few can understand. The loss of a child is a pain, that no one should feel. Losing a living child is the hardest to explain. Even harder for others to understand.

Our pain is real to us. We need support. It's hard to heal.

If you can relate:

  • I am here to build support.
  • I am here to share resources
  • I am here to share my strength on my strong days and give assistance for you to regroup
  • I am here parent to parent, human to human.

Become part of our tribe actively working to heal ourselves and our love ones.
